Number Line: Integers

This manipulative provides opportunities to:

  • Compare up to three integers at a time using inequalities

  • Manipulate distance scenarios which are represented by objects at different elevations, piggy banks, or thermometers on a map

  • Switch the inequality between less than and greater than to change the order of the values

  • View the meaning of the absolute value in sentence form

  • Transition between objects and points on the number line

  • Orient the number line horizontally or vertically


PhET also provides translated versions of the simulation in multiple languages, teacher created activities, and with a free account you can access their teaching resources.
